SCHAKO corporate history
1928

Ferdinand Schad founds the company, which is involved in the production of surgical instruments under contract. It also manufactures components for the music industry, including flow parts for mouth organs.


1930-40

The company takes the first step towards creating its own sales network for manufactured products with protective caps for safety shoes.

1950

Production and sale of heating products such as oven doors, hot-air heating systems and ancillary stoves. 


1960

In response to growing demand for solutions for indoor air-conditioning, SCHAKO manufactures the first ventilation grids. 


1970

SCHAKO develops and patents its swirl diffuser DQJ. Its design continues to set the market standard today.

Our own flow laboratory with sound measurement room paves the way for intensive research and development work.


1980

The first fire protection flap with metal flap plate comes from SCHAKO - maximum security for airconditioning and ventilation systems.
 
The Ideal Comfort Outlet IKA is designed for the optimum ventilation of high halls. It is used in the Berlin and Nuremberg trade fair center and also at Barcelona airport

The volume control damper VRA with measuring cross is launched. This development permits a previously unattainable degree of measurement accuracy. 


1990

The company's own information center with demonstration lab and training suite opens its doors in Kolbingen
 
SCHAKO is the first supplier to make use of the benefits of the pulsating air jet with the PIL ceiling pulse outlet.

With a membrane absorber totally free of mineral fiber, SCHAKO opens up new perspectives in sound protection technology.
 
The company presents the first independent communicative signalling and switching bus system KOMES.
 
SCHAKO installs the first components for private living room ventilation and develops the smoke detection system RMS. With facility for flush ceiling or wall mounting, it blends elegantly into the room and is practically immune to soiling.

2,000 - the present day

Three attractive product innovations from SCHAKO set new standards in the office environment: The air ventilation system Cultra for decentral air-conditioning, the Audimin acoustic panel designed specifically for reverberant rooms, and the telephony acoustic module Audix. 

With the construction of a modern fire protection laboratory in its Heudorf plant SCHAKO is extending its internal research capability and reinforcing its competence in the field of fire protection technology. With its Budapest plant, the company has now launched its fourth production plant alongside Kolbingen, Messkirch and Saragossa. SCHAKO is present with branches and representatives throughout Europe.
